Overview

The 2^ndInternational Symposium on Alternatives Assessment: Building the Field provides a collegial forum for governmental agency staff, university researchers, industry sustainability professionals, environmental health consultants and advocates to:

Understand evolving practices and challenges in alternatives assessment and informed substitution
Foster new collaborations between academic, government and industry alternatives assessment practitioners
Identify training, education, and technical support needs for alternatives assessment and informed substitution
Initiate the formation of the Association for the Advancement of Alternatives Assessment (A4) – formalizing the community of practice

Who Should Attend

The symposium provides an opportunity to convene the broad community of individuals working on various aspects of alternatives assessment. The symposium will be of interest to:

Professionals working in supporting scientific disciplines including exposure, hazard, and life cycle assessment and decision-analysis
Developers of data and tools to support alternatives assessment
